Staff will be at the doors to greet you in the morning as your child comes into school and at the end of the day. Please don’t worry if you are not sure where to go as staff will be available to direct you during the first week.

    School Uniform

We encourage all children to wear our school uniform. Our uniform is: Grey or black trousers or skirt with a white shirt, blouse or polo shirt and red cardigan or jumper.

Uniform with the school logo can be purchased from www.myclothing.com, but this is not essential and uniform can also be purchased from most supermarkets.

Children will be spending time outside everyday so please make sure they have sensible dark coloured school shoes and a coat.

    PE Kit

Children in Key Stage 1 will need a PE kit in the Autumn Term. These will not be needed for the first 2 weeks and your child’s teacher will let you know when they need to bring it.

For PE we ask that all children wear plain black shorts and a white t.shirt with plimsolls or dark trainers. Again PE kit can be purchased from www.myclothing.com, but this is not essential as it can also be purchased from most supermarkets.

As the weather turns cooler during the Autumn Term your child will also need some plain dark coloured jogging bottoms and a long sleeved top.

Please note: Children in FS2 will not need a PE kit until after the October half term.

Please make sure you put your child’s name in all their clothes.  It is very easy for things to get mixed up if they don’t have a name in.

Things your child will need in school with them every day.

Your child will need a labelled water bottle to bring to school every day containing water- no juice please. Water bottles can be purchased from the school office for £1.50.

Children should also bring their book bag with them every day and any children new to our school will be given one during the first week. Replacement book bags can also be purchased from the school office for £4.75.

We please ask that children do not bring toys or any other things from home to help avoid things getting lost or broken, unless this has been prearranged with your child’s teacher.

    Absence

It is important that unless your child is unwell or there are exceptional circumstances, they are in school on time every day.

If your child is going to be absent please ring the school office on 01623 842224 as soon as possible, giving the reason they are absent. Further information about attendance will be shared at the start of the new term.

We are all really looking forward to seeing you all in September.

Mrs Stancliffe & the Hetts Lane Team
