This week we will start learning about the traditional tale 'The Gingerbread Man.' Here is the story for you to read with your child.
Here are the characters from the story. Can you name them all? Have a go at writing each of the missing words.
Make your own split pin gingerbread man! Can you use him to retell the story?
Maths
In Maths we will be thinking about circles and triangles. Can you go on a shape hunt around your house? What shapes can you find? Encourage your child to have a go at drawing some of the circles and triangles that they can see.
We will also be looking at how when we count forward the quantity increases by 1 and how when we count backwards it decreases by 1. We are going to build towers, starting at 1 and up to 5. Count out the correct amount of bricks. If you take the 4 tower away can you child say what amount is missing? How do they know? Work up to 10 if your child is confident at this.
