Understanding the World

All the pets we have been learning about can be sorted into different groups.

Mammals all have hair or fur, they are warm-blooded, and the mummy animal gives birth to live young.

Birds all lay eggs, they have wings and a body covered with feathers.

Reptiles have dry, scaly skin, they lay eggs, and need to breathe air.

Look at the slide show of different animals and birds below.

Talk to your grown-up and try to decide whether each creature is a mammal,

a bird, or a reptile.
