Working Together To Be The Best We Can Be

Phonics

Today we are learning how to read and use the 'igh' phoneme.

'igh' is a trigraph which means three letters work together to make one sound. Click on the picture below to watch a video which introduces the 'igh' sounds.

Challenge

In your work book, have a go at writing some of the words which have 'igh' in them. The words in the video are, high, night, light, thigh, bright and flight. Can you think of another of your own? If you want an extra challenge, try to use the igh words in a sentence with a capital letter to begin with and a full stop at the end. For example, He turned off the bright light when it was night time.
