Challenge 1.
Can you look around your house and garden and find some things that you could use to make instruments?
You could find an old pan and a wooden spoon to bang it with, fill a used margarine tub or yoghurt pot with some pasta or rice to make a shaker, find two sticks that you can tap together... See what else you can think of too!
Challenge 2.
You can now use some of your home-made instruments to play a little game with another family member to help you.
Choose 3 different instruments.
Now think of some actions that a little bird makes, e.g. hopping, pecking, nodding it's head, flapping it's wings, swooping about etc.
Player 1 chooses decides on an action to match each instrument e.g. hopping when the drum is played, flapping when the shaker is played etc...
Player 2 must listen carefully to the instruments and perform the appropriate action.
Have fun- remember to take turns!!
Challenge 3.
Here are some more rhymes about Birds for you to learn. Some of them have movements to make too!
(Apologies about font quality on Rhyme 1, hope you can still read it!!)
