School reopening January 2021

Good Afternoon,  

I hope you are all well and within our current circumstances, have managed to have a good Christmas and New Year. I would just like to confirm that currently school will be open from tomorrow, Monday 4^th January.  

I’m sure you will be aware that this is a rapidly changing situation, being made more confusing by lots of media speculation and Government decisions are being made and changed in response to changing circumstances all the time. As you may have seen, there have also been developments within the education sector over the last few days.  

As it stands, we are in a position to open from Monday 4^th January. As always, should anything change I will endeavour to let you know as soon as possible. Unfortunately, school does not receive any information regarding changes in advance, and we have to watch out for the latest updates in the news at the same time as you.  

I would once again like to thank you for your ongoing support throughout this pandemic in working with us to keep everyone as safe as we can. 

To help us continue with this, can I please remind you of some really important messages:  

• If you, your child or anyone in your household is unwell, showing symptoms of COVID-19 (a new persistent cough, a high temperature or a loss or change to taste or smell) or has been in close contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 then you and your child must stay at home and NOT come to school. This is really important in preventing the spread of the virus. If you do not feel well but are not sure if it is COVID- 19 then please stay at home and take medical advice.  

Dropping off and collecting children  

• Please remember each class has a set drop off and collection time and continue to bring and collect your child at the times shown below (as you did last term). This is to help avoid too many people being on the school site at once.  
• It is important that you keep to your childs class’s allocated time, unless you have prearranged a different time with school.   

When on the school site and mixing with other children, parents and staff please support us by:  

• Wearing a face covering, unless you are exempt from doing so.   
• Coming in using the middle gate at the front of school and leaving by the side gate. (Fulltime children) 
• Giving way to others 
• Keeping  socially distanced at all times and  remaining 2m apart from other households  
• Only one adult bringing and collecting your child whenever possible and keeping your child with you at all times   
• No congregating – leave the site immediately once you have dropped off or collected your child.   

Contacting the school 

• Please contact the school by phone or email rather than coming into school in person. If you do need to come to the school office in an emergency you must wear a face covering before entering the building.   

We are all looking forward to seeing your children back in school and as always the safety of children, staff and parents is our upmost priority. Once again, I thank you for your continued support during these difficult times. We are working hard to keep your children as safe as possible, and given the heightened cases of infection rates, we need to work together to ensure that we continue to set a high standard of safety for everyone.
