Working Together To Be The Best We Can Be

Returning to school information

Hello,

We are really looking forward and excited to be welcoming everyone back soon.

The staff have been busy getting the school ready and are currently working hard to make the classrooms as welcoming and as safe as we can . Please have a look on the website as the teachers will be putting on some pictures of your new classroom.

I am pleased to confirm the dates and times given to you at the end of term:

Year 2  (Classes 4 & 5) will be returning on Thursday 3rd September

Year 1 (Classes 6 & 7) will be returning on Friday 4th September

FS2 (Classes 2 & 3) will be visiting their new classes in groups during the week beginning 7th September and starting full time on Monday 14th September. All FS2 children starting school with us have had a letter with the dates they will be visiting. If anyone is not sure please contact school.

Children who are already in our nursery (FS1) will be returning on Thursday 3rd September.

Nursery children who had a place to start with us after Easter have had a letter giving times and dates for transition visits starting from Tuesday 8th September.

In line with government guidelines to avoid too many people being together at one time each class bubble will have a set time to arrive and go home. It will be important that you arrive within your class bubbles allocated time.

Class 4 will start at 8.50 am using the far door and finish at 2.50pm using the red gate

Class 5 will start at 8.30am using the far door and finish at 2.30pm using the red gate

Class 6 will start at 8.30am and finish at 2.30 using the main school entrance

Class 7 will start at 8.50am and finish at 2.50pm using the main school entrance

Following their transition visits FS2 will start fulltime from Monday 14th at the following times:

Class 2 will start at 9am and finish at 3pm using the far door

Class 3 will start at 8.40 and finish at 2.40pm using the far door

If you have other children at our school you will be able to bring them with your youngest child. If your child’s class times cause you any difficulty because you have other children at our nursery or Sherwood Junior School please contact us.

We ask that only one adult brings and collects your child and you observe safe social distancing.  Please use the middle gate at the front of school and don’t worry if you are not sure which way to go as there will be staff to meet you. When you arrive you will be greeted by a member of staff outside who will then take your child in, once they have said goodbye to you. Children will then join their friends in their classroom and wash their hands ready to start their day. To help keep us all safe, parents will not go into the school building.

What will your child need to bring?

From September we will be encouraging all children to wear our school uniform.

This is: Grey or black trousers or skirt with a white shirt, blouse or polo shirt and red cardigan or jumper.

As part of your child's daily learning they will be spending time outside so please make sure they have sensible school shoes and a coat.

Your child will need to bring a water to school everyday but should not bring any toys from home.

Your child will not need a PE kit for the first couple of weeks, your teacher will tell you when it will be needed.

Don’t forget to bring your Summer Reading Challenge, we would love to see all the different things you have found to read with your child.

We can provide your child with a packed lunch with either cheese or ham sandwiches or you can send them with their own packed lunch.

We can’t wait to see you all soon.
