Challenge 1- Pet Survey.
Think of 3 different creatures that could be pets.
e.g. dog rabbit goldfish
Now ask members of your family and friends which of these 3 creatures they would choose as a pet.
For each answer make a tick, draw a smiley face or make a tally mark next to that creature's name on a piece of paper.
When you have asked lots of different people, look at your results!
Which creature did most people choose?
Which pet was the least favourite?
Which pet did 3 people like etc?
How many people did you ask altogether?
Challenge 2- Price Tags.
Can you make some price tags to set up a 'Great Pet Sale?'
Ask your grown- up to help you cut out some label shaped pieces of cardboard, and make a hole in them to attach them to your pretend pets.
Now have a go at writing a numeral on each label- use numbers up to 10- don't forget to add the 'p' sign!!

Now have fun using any toy animals or plastic animals you have at home to set up a pet sale ( see creative activities)
Challenge 3- 1p coins.
Ask your grown-ups to help you find as many 1p coins as possible.
(You may want to wash them first to get rid of any germs!!)
Now see if you can be the customer at the pet shop, and count out enough 1p coins to match the price label of the pet you want to buy!
If you are pretending to be the shopkeeper, check the customer has given you the right amount!!
