This week we are going to be thinking about halving. This means sharing an object or number into 2 equal parts.
You can practice finding half in lots of different ways. How could you cut a piece of bread or toast in half? You could make 2 rectangles or 2 triangles of the same size.
Count out an even number of objects for you child
Ask your child to share them equally between 2 plates. How many in each half?
(Even numbers are 2,4,6,8,10...)
Ask a grown up to draw you some ladybirds without any spots to to do the activity below. The second page is more of a challenge.
If you have some dominoes can you sort out the ones which have the same number on each half of the domino?
