Reading.
You have already listened to the story of 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar.'
Here is another story about a little caterpillar.
It has lots of rhyming words in it.
Can you hear any words that rhyme together?
Writing.
Can you design an invitation to the Hungry Caterpillar Party?
Fold a piece of paper in half.
On the front cover, draw a picture linked to the story.
Use the illustrations to help you if you need to.
Inside, decide which members of your family you are going to invite to the party.
Have a go at writing 'Dear Mummy' or 'Dear Daddy'
Can you tell them where the party will be and at what time?
Remember to finish with 'love from' and your name.
Grown-ups!! Please don't worry if your child cannot form letter shapes yet. If they just make marks to represent letters or squiggles, THAT IS ABSOLUTELY FINE...and a very normal stage of development. The marks will have meaning to your child- please let them tell you what it 'says.'
