These are called imperative verbs. We sometimes call them bossy verbs.

They tell us what to do.

The underlined words are the imperative (bossy) verbs.

Can you spot the imperative verbs in these instructions and write them in your book?

1. Put butter and sugar in a bowl and mix well until light and fluffy.

2. Stir in the vanilla.

3. Add in the flour and mix well.

4. Roll out.

5. Cut out star shapes.

6. Bake in the oven for 25 minutes until golden brown.

Perhaps you can find the imperative (bossy) verbs in other instructions.
