Working Together To Be The Best We Can Be

Literacy

We hope you have had a lovely week with your families.

Did you enjoy reading the story all about Ronald the Rhino? I really liked how kind and thoughtful the other animals were to Ronald.

We are looking at animals from the continent of Africa. Our learning in English will be creative writing. We are going to change the story ‘We’re going on a Lion Hunt’ to an animal of your choice. It's entirely up to you! You can follow the pattern of the story or you can totally change the whole story and make up your own. We will look carefully at the use of punctuation and tense throughout the story. Don't forget to use your noun phrases when describing your journey..

One star  -  Share the story with a grown up and arrange the words to create a sentence to retell parts of the story.

Two star  -  Share the story and change a lion for another animal. Have a go at writing part of the story. Look carefully at how the story keeps repeating lines.

Three star  -  Read the story and change the animal and the setting/ places you go through on your hunt. Don’t forget about the use of an apostrophe eg; We are - We're

Four star  -  Share the story and change the animal and the setting/ places you go through on your hunt. Use noun phrases to  describe your animal at the end. Don’t forget about the use of an apostrophe, exclamation mark
